To welcome the Year of the Snake, the fashion designer Shuting Qiu created an original artwork especially for Maison Hennessy that honors the values they share.
Like a piece of haute couture, a two-sided tapestry presents a precious play on bold color, vibrant motifs and relief, at once evoking the traditional Chinese arts of brocade and embroidery, the texture of snakeskin as it is shed and renewed, and the sinuous movement of the Charente River.
Born in Hangzhou and now based in Shanghai, Shuting Qiu draws inspiration from classical Chinese culture, focusing on traditional fabrics like brocade, jacquard, and embroidery.
Her unique floral and snake scale patterns come to life on the 2025 Lunar New Year limited editions of Hennessy V.S.O.P, Hennessy X.O, and Hennessy Paradis. The rich red backdrop of these bottles unfolds tales with vivid snake motifs, evoking the meandering Charente River that mirrors Hennessy’s enduring heritage.

Hennessy V.S.O.P
radiates “youthful vitality,” with red floral motifs creating a visual symphony. Boldly merging plaid and abstract snake outlines, the design bridges avant-garde appeal and tradition. Qiu introduced four unique patterns, blending traditional motifs and abstract serpentine shapes. Embossed textures on the gift box replicate fabric-like depth, mirroring sequin and glitter techniques found in textiles. The reusable fabric pouch features bright floral and leaf motifs, embodying sustainable elegance.
Hennessy X.O
combines red, gold, and blue hues with dynamic flair. Drawing on diamond shapes from Chinese motifs, it features a gold cap and embossed serpentine patterns, symbolizing transformation. The recyclable eco-friendly gift box mirrors the fabric texture, adding intricate details.
Exclusive Hennessy Paradis
edition celebrates the Lunar New Year with vibrant red hues and abstract sculptural snake designs, merging elegance and luxury. The soft leather neckband, inspired by the snake’s shedding and rebirth, symbolizes spring’s renewal.
Each of these creations serves as a cherished gift for Lunar New Year gatherings, enjoyed neat, on ice, or as a base for cocktails like “The Snake” Beyond their role as spirits, the bottles double as art pieces, infusing spaces with warmth and festivity.

Shuting Qiu, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, is known for her “modern romantic” aesthetic, showcasing a powerful yet soft femininity.
Her work is characterized by asymmetrical cuts, bold jacquard silks, intricate embroidery, and vivid floral prints.
Based in Shanghai, she finds inspiration in art, literature, cinema, and travel, reflecting the ethos of pioneering women such as Virginia Woolf and Pina Bausch
